Lane Jacobson, President

Having amassed more than 20 years in the building industry, Lane Jacobson brings a unique business approach to each build. Using a rare open-book policy, Jacobson maintains a modest 12% contractor fee and is able to minimize build costs due to his longtime relationships with a majority of the subcontractors in the region. He also incorporates a strict use of lien waivers for all subcontractors and suppliers, protecting the client at all costs.

Prior to forming Altitude Design Build, Jacobson traveled the Mountain West, building custom log homes for the likes of Ted Turner (TNT), Paul Allen (owner of the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Seahawks) and Bill Nicholson (CEO of Amway) from 1990 to 1997. He then moved to Utah and quickly became the lead superintendent for Midway Construction and, most recently, the on-site Project Manager for Kent Construction at the new Enclave development in Park City.

Feldman, as he is commonly referred to, has built numerous homes in CA and now Park City and demands a unique design, a timely build, a relevant style and a satisfied client.

Bill Van Sickle was formally educated at ITT Technical Institute and Weber State University. He has been designing high-end residential homes for nearly 20 years.

Van Sickle Design creates one-of-a-kind custom homes that are heavy on aesthetic appeal, yet provide a unique livability.

The following are real-time hard costs (based on $1 million build) associated with Altitude Design Build and how they compare with the majority of builders in the Park City region. Our fee structure is designed to minimize your costs, yet maintain the integrity of the build.
 


Other Contractors



I. Architectural Fee: Typically $50,000 - $80,000 Average: $65,000

II. Contractor's Fee: 14% to 18%. This fee is attached to the total bid/estimate for the project. This includes taking a percentage fee on the upfront costs of the project, the hard costs of the project, the landscaping and all the items detailed in Additional Fees ($7,000). Average: $160,000

III. Additional Costs: Other typical line items in the bid are a mandatory Supervisor salary ($55,000); insurance ($7,000); miscellaneous costs such as dumpsters, porta potty, snow removal, clean-up and all general labor. ($8,000). -- $70,000

IV. Interior Design (Optional): $25,000

V. Total Build Fee: $295,000
 


Altitude Design Build



I. Architectural Fee: $35,000

II. Contractor’s fee is a flat 12%. This fee reflects all supervision, project insurance and miscellaneous costs associated with the build: $120,000

III. Additional Costs (listed above): NO CHARGE

IV. Project Management Fee (optional): For those living outside of Utah, we serve as liaison between you and the architect, builder and interior designer, providing daily/weekly updates as required. We will install a camera on-site that can be viewed on our web site with your own username/password, affording you a first-hand, visual account of the progress of your home. We will attend builder/designer meetings and any County-related meetings. $60,000 (6% of total build cost)

V. Interior Design (optional): $25,000

VI. Total Build Fee: $155,000 (without Project Management)
